Bunnie Xo has commented on speculation about her divorce from Jelly Roll after the country music singer’s teenage daughter suggested there’s a reason for the split the public isn’t privy to, claiming the internet will “crumble” if she spoke out.
The “Dumb Blonde” podcast host, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, responded to a fan’s comment on a July 22 TikTok video: “Nothing to clear up. She didn’t say anything lol ppl just wanna run with a narrative,” People magazine reported.
“Love my baby forever,” Bunnie Xo added, which People said was directed at Bailee Ann.
On Saturday, USA Today reported that the comment reply is no longer visible.
Bunnie Xo made the statement following a TikTok livestream on July 19 by Jelly Roll’s 18-year-old daughter, Bailee Ann. During the livestream, the teenager said of her father’s divorce that people “have no f— idea what happened, and wait ‘til y’all find out.”
The teenager also said “nobody cheated” between Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord.
“[Get] the f— out of my comments, my DMs, my live with that s—, I don’t care, I don’t want to talk about it,” Bailee Ann said.
“The internet in totality is about to f—crumble the day that I open my mouth,” the daughter of the Grammy-winning musician continued.
“It’s not a difference in [expletive] opinions,” she added. “Nobody else lived in it. So don’t [expletive] even. I’m for real so done. Good? Everybody good? We’re on the same page? Cool.”
Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo on May 18, according to court records obtained by TMZ, ending their nearly 10-year marriage. The filing reportedly came days after he separated from Bunnie Xo.
The couple married in August 2016 after meeting in Las Vegas. Over the years, both have spoken publicly about challenges they faced early in their relationship, including infidelity, addiction and mental health struggles. They’ve also spoken publicly about their faith in Christ.
According to sources cited by TMZ, the divorce was a mutual decision. However, during an episode last month of her “Dumb Blonde” podcast, Bunnie Xo said the decision was not mutual.
The 46-year-old podcast host said she and Jelly Roll struggled with disagreements and often held things back to avoid arguments — which she acknowledged was a “recipe for disaster.”
“We always preach you gotta be comfortable having the uncomfortable conversations, and we did that for eight years in,” Bunnie Xo explained. “Then the past year and a half, we kind of got away from that because we’re in a different life right now.”
The tension reached a boiling point on Mother’s Day, when an argument broke out that ended with Bunnie Xo leaving the house.
“On Mother’s Day, we had a little bit of an argument, which I don’t think the details are necessary,” she said. “I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and I said, ‘Well, then file the [expletive] divorce papers.’”
“And in our relationship, that is the one cardinal thing that you don’t say,” she added. “Even though my husband has said it numerous times ‘cause he’s the runner.”
Bunnie Xo said she was speaking “out of anger and just frustration” when she told Jelly Roll to file divorce papers. At the time of the podcast episode, she said she had lost 15 pounds and started counseling, in addition to hormone replacement therapy, in the aftermath of the divorce.
Despite the divorce, Bunnie Xo said she and Jelly Roll are still planning to have a baby together.
