“Michael,” the new biopic about legendary singer Michael Jackson, explores the King of Pop’s childhood and rise to fame but has drawn criticism for avoiding references to one of the major controversies of the music star’s life.

The movie, released in theaters on April 24, focuses on his early years performing with the family band, The Jackson 5, and his eventual stardom as a solo artist in the 1970s and 1980s. Because the film does not portray Jackson’s life and career during the 1990s, references to the sexual abuse allegations are absent.

While the biopic highlights various events from Jackson’s life, some depictions are more accurate than others.

Here are four key details about Michael Jackson that the biopic “Michael” got right, got wrong or left out.
