Leslie Williams, a Florida pastor, board-certified Christian counselor, and author of the 2017 book Love Her Like This: Loving Her Has Never Been Deeper, is now awaiting extradition to Georgia after he was arrested on a warrant for bigamy.
Records from the Sumter County Detention Center in Bushnell show that 62-year-old Williams, who also runs Leslie Williams Ministries in The Villages, was booked on April 22. Officials at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with The Christian Post that he was arrested for bigamy and was awaiting extradition to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office in Conyers, Georgia, where a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Rockdale County officials could not immediately provide additional details on the charge against Williams but confirmed with CP that the warrant was issued for a felony. In Georgia, bigamy is a felony punishable by one to 10 years in prison.
Calls to Leslie Williams Ministries went unanswered on Monday.
Williams announced his latest marriage in a Dec. 9, 2025, Facebook post to a woman identified as Cindi. He received many congratulatory messages from connections on the platform, but one connection expressed surprise at his nuptials.
The Christian counselor, who is also a K9 trainer, liked the comment but did not address the concern that he was already married.
Several days later, he would share a photo of Cindi while doting on her to followers.
“Thanks for all the wonderful comments referencing my saved, beautiful, and talented wife, Mrs. Williams! She’s saved for real, praise God!!!” he wrote.
On his ministry website, Williams says his mission is to “spread the message of hope and love through faith in Jesus Christ and prepare as many as we can for the end of time! We believe in empowering individuals as disciples to strengthen their relationship with God, each other, and with new disciple recruits.”
In the preface to his book, Williams dedicated the work to “every man who has ever loved his wife.”
“If you have loved and been divorced, this book is for you. If you have loved and are now separated, this book is for you. If you’ve ever loved and lost your wife and are now a widower, this book is for you! Love is the most misunderstood action in the life of men,” he wrote.
“Some feel as if they cannot win in love, others don’t know how to love, still some associate love with sex, while others have never been shown how to love, and have never been in the atmosphere of love growing up, subsequently, these men find themselves hurting women and ultimately themselves. I applaud you for not giving up on love, keep trying, but now, love her like this!” he added.
Williams said he almost didn’t write the book because he felt unqualified to write it because of his failed marriage, but noted that he was “encouraged by the Lord to write it.”
“Writing this book brought a lot of emotions to my mind from my failed marriage, and I questioned my ability and qualifications to write this book in the beginning, but I was encouraged by the Lord to write it,” he explained.
“Many judge the success of others by how successful they are in that thing, I have found that success is not being successful in a thing alone, but it is how that thing made you successful now and how it prepared you for the next time.”
