A popular online tarot card reader has embraced Christianity, deleted all of her old videos and created a new TikTok account, saying that “Jesus Christ has saved my life.”

“This will be my final post,” a TikTok user known as “Alex in the Ordinary,” who has over 933,000 followers and 52 million likes, announced in a video last week.

“I am not going to be offering any more readings or sessions. I’m not going to be creating any more tarot content and once this account is gone, I will not be returning.”

She expressed gratitude that her work has enabled her to interact with “incredible people all across the world.” While she did not explicitly identify her work at the beginning of the video, a YouTube account with the name “Alex Reads Tarot official” reveals that she is a tarot card reader and still contains some of her old videos. The TikTok video included a reflection on her faith journey and its implications for her work.

“Over the past nearly a year, my faith has become the most important thing in my life. Through that journey, I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting, questioning, praying and trying to understand my faith more and where God was starting to lead me,” she said. “This hasn’t been an overnight change. This has been a gradual journey that has slowly changed the way that I see my life and my faith.”

“I don’t know exactly what comes next for me,” she acknowledged. “What I do know is that Jesus Christ has saved my life and I can no longer ignore that reality.”

In a video posted Monday, the social media influencer said she made another TikTok account that will focus on “conversations about Scripture” and “whatever the Lord holds for me to share.” She shared a link to the new account revealing that her real name is Alexandra Ashcroft.

Her existing TikTok account only has the latest video and the one outlining her intention to stop tarot reading, with all other content removed.

“I can’t preempt it because I’m not worried about tomorrow. We don’t worry about tomorrow. We focus on where our feet are now on this walk,” she proclaimed.

Ashcroft invited people to follow her on her new account, reiterating her plans to delete her existing account in the coming days.

After mentioning the commentary that has been online about her decision to embark on a new chapter, she discussed how “People have reached their own conclusions, that’s not in my control.”

“I know the truth, God knows the truth,” she added.

Ashcroft’s new account has the handle “alexcourageinchrist” and already has one video posted. The video begins with her reading the Bible verse John 15:18, which states, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” Possibly referring to criticism she has received for abandoning her past as a tarot card reader, Ashcroft suggested that she was “a walking testimony of that fact.”

“If the world hates you, remember it hated Jesus first,” she added. “They crucified Him and what I’ve been working through with Jesus is … the truth of … His crucifixion.”

Ashcroft detailed how she recently watched “The Passion of the Christ” for the first time and discussed its impact on her.

“What God reminded me and what Jesus said to me is to never forget … the truth,” she said.

“Sometimes, we can hear a story so many times a year, so often in our lives that we actually forget the depth and the reality of that,” she continued, before sharing the details about Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

“They tore His clothes. His flesh was stripped from His body. His organs were hanging out, His entrails. He had a crown of thorns that pierced into His brain. He was nailed to a piece of wood. They had to physically line up and stretch His arms out and His legs down and nail it through His palms and through His feet.”

Ashcroft said Jesus’ crucifixion is the reason why she doesn’t mind that the “world hates me.”

“I don’t mind when people tell lies,” she said. “I don’t mind conspiracy because nothing compares to the sacrifice that Jesus made.”

“Nothing will ever compare,” she insisted. “I just want to say that any trials and any tribulation … that you are facing right now, you are loved. And any mockery you face right now, Jesus faced it. He faced it in a way that none of us ever will in our lives and that is not minimizing my pain, that’s not minimizing your pain.”

Ashcroft concluded the first video on her account by declaring “Jesus did save me,” adding “We’ve been working through it together.”
